Review on MICHELIN Pilot Alpin 4 235/35 R20 92W Winter by Agata Gobiowska ᠌

Nothing ordinary, a normal product.

Installed this rubber on 2 cars with all-wheel drive. (MB w221 and w212) It behaves the same on both cars. (weight and dimensions are slightly different, but the weight distribution is 50:50 everywhere) I must say right away that it was taken specifically for operation in the conditions of the euro-winter. 95% of the time to drive on asphalt up to 200 km / h. He copes with his task. But no more. Clean asphalt. Everything is fine, but the braking distance is noticeably longer than that of summer tires. On long trips, it behaves quietly, calmly and steadily at speeds of 150-170. Wet asphalt + puddles + rain. Everything is also good. In puddles, the car does not throw, hydroplaning is predictable, without loss of consciousness from fear. You can also drive on the highway up to 150-170 km / h. On the snow - predictable, but bad. Demolition, drifts, loss of control, lack of brakes. (60 km / h) It is difficult to drive along the highway in the snow, overtaking and rebuilding through the crossings have to be calculated in advance. Speed from 60 km / h will not forgive you any mistakes. You will go where the mass vector is directed. You don't expect this from a Michelin, but still it's just awful in real winter conditions. (previously used Dunlop, Bridgestone, Yokohama, Nokian) The bear is definitely worse than all this. (all tires were bought new, maximum 6 months from the date of issue) Belshina behaves better in the snow than this Mishka ( NOT SUITABLE for northern regions and Siberia. THIS IS NOT A WINTER TIRE! Rather off-season, for a cold wet road. From personal experience: If you need winter studless tires - your choice is ONLY Bridgestone. All other manufacturers are nervously smoking with their pseudo-winter compounds and protectors.

Pros
  • Soft Fairly quiet Works well on dry cold pavement Handles well in the rain
Cons
  • Absolute insignificance on snow, ice and under any conditions that somehow resemble winter. Does not slow down and do not steer on slush and snowy lanes. Pulls the steering wheel to the side when the wheel hits the lane or in a snowy area. It is very difficult to regain control during demolition, you have to wait a long time until the car changes its mind, it does not respond to steering. The cost is as if the cord is made of platinum threads, and the rubber is made of natural rubber collected by virgins who have been fed lobsters, black caviar and rare species of alien fauna all their lives.
