This was an exact replacement. The original seemed to still work. The volume up/down buttons were very slow. So I found this at a very good price. I was actually surprised at how cheap it is. No, we're back with brand new features and enjoying our Denon receiver. My wife has hearing problems so the volume buttons didn't work. During the day we listen to Pandora through a Bose Acoustamass speaker system, so the ability to quickly change the volume is very important to me.
