Review on LG 32UL950 W Ultrafine 4K Thunderbolt Monitor 🖥️ with Color Calibration, VESA DisplayHDR™ 600, RADEON FreeSync™, ‎32UL950-W by Travis Shankar

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost great. Y uneven, BL bleeds

With this model, LG has by far the best OSD and controls on the market. The joystick under the lower bezel is great, all important color spaces are easily accessible. What a pleasure to compare sRGB, AdobeRGB, Rec 709, EBU and DCI-P3 in seconds. What was missing from the panel I got was edge-to-edge brightness (Y) uniformity. Significant vignetting on a pure white screen. Backlight (BL) show-through in the darkened editor was significantly worse than the HP Z32, ProArt PA329c, and Lenovo P32u. Overall, we prefer the P32u and PA329c. All four are IPS or variants (e.g. AHVA), but HP and LG use LG panels; Lenovo and Asus rely on panels from AU Optronics. We use three-screen workstations, so the $700 P32u (on sale) isn't a problem. Most interesting is the upcoming "almost-reference" LG OLED 32, LG 32EP950, which will use a JOLED panel instead of an LG panel (!). We will try the LG 32EP950. I don't know if we triple can afford that.
