This cap can be put on and taken off more than once. I added coolant several times due to a leaking water pump, the couple of times the cap fell off, the top part separating from the bottom. This kept the lower body in the water pipe and the round thing in my hands. It took a little effort to pull the cap body out of the tube. It can work well if you put it on once and never touch it again.
