Kit arrived on time and installation was quick. The dealer priced the stage repair at over $500 and I suspect they were planning on just replacing the entire assembly. Videos online suggest the exchange was problematic, but it wasn't. We encourage anyone who owns this RV step model to have a spare motor assembly on hand. In addition, the gear assembly in the main mechanism can also fail, creating a step that does not fully retract and producing a characteristic noise. This gear can also be easily swapped out or rotated 180 degrees and left in place for years of extra use. We do not recommend replacing the entire assembly for more than $500, so ask your dealer!
