I had a slightly intimidating experience with this product yesterday while climbing over rocks in Great Falls Park in Virginia when I accidentally dropped it and the lid snapped open on impact with a rock about a meter below, pouring out most of the water before I could reach it. Luckily I wasn't too far from the visitor center where I could fill it up, but if I was a mile or two away and this happened I could get severely dehydrated without water. To be fair, this product is designed to blend protein. powder, not long distance. And the lid holds up more than enough for that purpose, in that regard it's a great product for use in gyms and other places where water sources are close enough. But these types of shakers can't be relied on if you're a mile or two from another water source - get something with a sturdy screw top instead that can withstand a fall or camel etc.
