Spanner GM purchased July 2017. 97 Tahoe, 7/5. I was performing scheduled maintenance and recently heard a loud popping noise from the engine. I noticed that the tensioner moved a lot as the engine warmed up. The tensioners should hardly move, in this case the belt has sagged badly. I ordered another GM tensioner and it fixed the problem. The problem is that the GM tensioner should have lasted over a year. I ordered this new part in August 2018. The belt was replaced in November 2017. Tahoe has only driven 3,000 miles since installing the first tensioner. Both were purchased from Revain. I might try the goal next time if this one fizzles out.
