I wear them with hiking sandals to keep gravel off when I'm walking on the beach or across rivers. Also, I wear them in fins to avoid rubbing. They work very well in both applications. Hiking sandals keep your feet warm in summer. They are light and dry quickly. Although I wear them quite often, there are some signs of wear. I didn't expect them to hold up to prolonged use and I'm happy with how they're holding up, but I plan on replacing them annually if you use them frequently. Good value for what they do, but you have to have realistic expectations of their durability.
