Bought a pair of these for use in Florida. Provides nice CLEAR protection for plates. BUT: A bit fragile. A rock falling from a dump truck while driving on the track caused a clean collapse of the front and hit a trim strip installed there. The bubble shape means the lid has less backing. Considering the cost, I chalked it up as a learning experience and ordered a flat cover for the front while keeping the bubble shape for the back. Assuming it's legal in your area: Pros: 1) Nice looks 2) License plate protection, except as stated above Cons: 1) A bit big on the outside - I can see some vehicle license plate holders can't stand that. .2) The bubble shape is decorative but not as strong as the flat one - more room for the coating to buckle [and crack] on impact.
