Review on MAXXHAUL 50025 Hitch Mounted 2-Bike Rack: Secure and Spacious - Holds up to 100 lbs! by Issac Smart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Maybe higher. EDIT: User error!

I am using this with an SUV that has a fairly high ground clearance (Nissan Xterra). The receiver on it is likely at least 15 to 18 inches off the ground. Even at this height, the bikes ride horribly low on this rack. I have a 26" bike and it clears the road about 7" but I was towing my 29" bike and we had to remove the front wheel to make room. annoys. The stand is solidly built, easy to set up and otherwise works well. If you have a hitch stand, you can hit the ground running with this stand. Otherwise, make sure your hitch receiver is high enough or you might be disappointed. EDIT: I got mine from the Revain warehouse. When I received it it was partially assembled. I assumed it was assembled correctly, but after looking at it, the bottom part that fits into the receiver was installed upside down. I unscrewed and unscrewed the vertical rod and flipped the receiver part over. It's now 8-10 inches taller than before, which is the right height to function properly when the bikes aren't close to the road. I have changed my rating to 4 out of 5 stars as I have not used the carrier yet. After that I can check again. EDIT: July 2021. The bike rack works great. Others have mentioned that he does move around a bit, and he does, but all move to some degree and there's nothing concerning or worrying about how much he travels while driving. If you tighten the bolt through the hitch receiver very firmly, you can still minimize the wobble. I've ridden it on a variety of roads, including four-lane freeways and dirt roads, and it handles my e-bike with no issues. If you have an e-bike with a battery in the down tube, save yourself the headache and remove the battery before attempting to hang the bike.
