You would think that in the electronic age there would be dozens of brands of Wi-Fi temperature sensors. no Most of them are Bluetooth, which requires you to be nearby. I bought it due to occasional power outages at home. Not only did I want to be able to see the current temperature outside my home, but also historical temperatures. If the power goes out for a few hours, the food in the refrigerator may be spoiled, but when the power comes back on, the temperature can be safe when you check at home. This product serves its purpose. I have a sensor in every fridge and freezer. I have calibrated them with an analog thermometer and they are within a degree or so. The analogue can be the one that is turned off. Setup was generally very easy, but I had a little trouble with one of the four sensors. The installer prompts you with an arrow to move the sensor to the phone. They really mean they are next to your phone. The phone's user interface is pretty good, but it could be better. This allows you to use the slider to set additional minimum and maximum temperature alarms. The slider is a bit imprecise, so up and down arrows or an input box would be better. One of my freezers is going intermittently cold (-20°C) for no apparent reason, so make sure you set an alarm for the minimum freezer temperature as well. The historical temperature chart is ok but could be better. It looks like it has automatic scaling between the appropriate temperature ranges, but that doesn't always work. That is, although my freezing temperature can remain close to zero degrees, the scale ranges from -43° to 96°. It should automatically narrow itself down to around -25° to 25°. Because he doesn't, the story is hard to read at times. Another problem with the historical chart is that it doesn't show the date. That is, if it is April 3rd at 7am, scrolling back to April 2nd 7am and April 1st will not show those dates - just 7am. You have to remember the date in your head. There is also no option to clear history. Quite often when I check the timings there is a wheel of update attempts that seems to spin endlessly. I'm not sure why that is. sensor problem? Bluetooth or WiFi connection problems? Unfortunately, the settings only allow you to switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit. There should be more user options. In general, the product works exactly as I expected. When writing this review, I noticed that the Wi-Fi hub is plugged into an outlet, so in the event of a power outage, I might not get the information I need. I need to check if the hub has a backup battery. If not, I might have to add one. But my internet could also go down. The magnitude of this potential problem is that while I don't get notifications when I leave the house, when I get home I at least have a consistent history to see if the food is spoiled. I have not seen any competing products in stores. Comparable prices that could be better, so I have very little buyer regret.
