Review on πŸ”ͺ BOSCH RCB8DG 8-Inch Diamond Grit TPI Reciprocating Saw Blade - Ideal for Cutting Cast Iron and Block by Aaron Bannister

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought to cut a cast iron drain pipe

I was doing some plumbing and needed to cut my 4 or 5 1920's cast drain pipes so I could insert a rubber boot and connect to PVC. . In short, it served its purpose. There are several options for cutting pipe, some easier or cheaper than others. Blades like these can be quite expensive but a deal for 20 was ok. Someone mentioned using a grinder and if you have a diamond blade for that and it's cheaper that seems reasonable. I only had a cheap $30 RF reciprocating saw when I did this and it worked perfectly. It wasn't particularly fast, but a few minutes with that diamond blade and I had a clean cut. I was actually able to make 3 cuts and the blade still seemed fine. Judging by the reviews I was expecting I might only get 1 cut and that was fine but when it came to doing more this blade did the job. I'm not sure how much more there is in this blade, but 3 passes through a 5" cast was no problem. I would recommend this blade and buy it again if I ever have a similar project again.
