Wow. I was expecting something "normal for zero waste" but this is the best yarn I have ever used. My teeth are clenched very tightly and I used plastic floss to protect my fingers from painful dents and even cuts. But the guilt I felt for each of them eventually grew too great, and I commanded it. This charcoal floss glides smoothly between my clenched teeth but has plenty of fiber friction to scrape away plaque. At the same time it is soft on the fingers. It's very strong and hasn't broken once in the week I've been using it, and I only need half the nylon thread. It's a little pricey, but refills are a little cheaper. I hope that costs will come down as people become more conscious of their waste.
