Review on RXL SL Carbon Fiber Road Bike Red Offset 🚴 Seatpost - 31.6/30.8/27.2mm - Bike Seatpost in Red, Green, Blue by Dave Knain

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not as light as I expected and the seat attachment system is a bit awkward. Otherwise so far so good.

I recently bought a new full suspension MTB and needed to lose some weight. The seat post that came with it was too long and heavy. I bought two of these because the price is very good compared to the other option. Here's what you need to know: - The seat attachment system is a bit awkward. I mean, the front adjustment screw can only be adjusted before you put the seat on, so you need to determine the angle and adjust the screw before you put the seat on. Only the rear screw can be tightened when the seat is installed and this only allows fore and aft adjustment, no tilt. - Not as easy as one might expect. The carbon walls are pretty well thought out, which is probably a good thing, but at the cost of weight. Still lighter than my aluminum. Pay attention to the length of the seat post. If it's too long it can be cut off, but be careful and wear gloves as some carbon fibers stick out inside. What I like: - Lighter than my aluminum pole. - Seems strong. I'll add if it breaks.- The color isn't bad either. Weaknesses: - I wish the mounting system was more traditional, with both screws adjustable from below - I wish the manufacturer offered a shorter bar - Could be lighter. I'm not sure why the walls are so thick. I don't want any coarse fibers sticking out inside. I would buy it again as it seems good overall and would recommend it as the cons listed above are livable. .
