Nothing special. They have a slot in them that appears to be for a spring to keep them closed when not in use. You have no feather. Some of the ones I had years ago had this and these are supposed to have this so it was obviously discontinued to save money. As a result, they vibrate and rattle despite the slight rib designed to prevent this. They have neat little #10 sheet metal screws to hold them in place and you won't strain them too much with a ratchet strap.
