For a fairly simple device with 2 moving parts that don't move, that's amazing! None of the metal sandpaper clips can be moved from the sandpaper holding position to the release position. The solution was simple. One of the "protrusions" that the snap holders had to clear to release was a bit long which completely interfered with release. I sanded down two of the problematic "tabs" (one at each end) to shorten them a bit. and it works fine now. How long will it take is a good question. But in general I suggest you buy one that comes ready to use!
