Now that the manufacturers are making this product out of plastic, PVC, etc., the price has dropped dramatically. FYI, if it doesn't retract far enough to sit on the installation and two splines on each side, use a threaded lock nut to pull it in further. A little more than hand tightening may be required. I have been working with these items for many years and eventually they have come down in price due to the way they are made. So break free from your liquid shower faucet with this new control. You will not regret it. This product comes highly recommended
