It works much better than the original - and uses standard batteries
I really like my SMSL amp but the remote control was terrible. It is very difficult to remove the battery and even the hearing aid battery. The new remote control is MUCH better built, durable and uses standard AAA batteries. BTW, the review saying it doesn't work is probably because you can accidentally turn it off with the ABC keys. You press the right button and everything works.
