I used this dongle to connect an external monitor and it worked fantastic for the first 5 months, but it went off intermittently from around October. Over time, there were frequent disconnections (both on the charger and on the external monitor). I've tried everything; Resetting the NVRAM/PRAM (I'm using it on a MacBook Pro 13", 2017), cleaning the connector, replacing the charger and charging cable, trying a different HDMI cable and a different VGA connection, all to no avail. Also, although this is stated in the title and description, it is only a USB 3 cable, not Thunderbolt 3. I knew this when I bought it, but after some research it turned out that many people think that these two cables are interchangeable.. it's not just thought I would mention it for those looking for one star reviews.
