Review on Nordic Ware Microwave Omelet Pan: Easy, Quick Omelets in Minutes! (8.4 Inch, White) by James Lozoya

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Happy as a puppy with this product.

I read a lot of reviews, including negative ones, but I still chose the Nordicware omelet pan. The 1st omelet was a hit and I couldn't be happier. However, I didn't follow the instructions exactly. From my past experience I know that heating an egg in the microwave takes no more than 50 seconds, so it only took me 1 minute for the first step instead of the 2 minutes the instructions said. This left me with a runny egg to mix with the boiled egg instead of the dried egg donut. Then I mixed the eggs together. I used 2 eggs for this first omelette and whatever ingredients I had on hand at the time. I used some white asparagus, fresh spring onions, white and Sichuan peppers, sausage and bacon, some sliced grape pearl mini tomatoes, and some Gruyere cheese. As for the milk, I estimated the 2 tablespoons required and sprinkled what seemed right to me, so not sure. I meant to drizzle the pan with olive oil beforehand, but forgot. Still not needed. The omelette slid out as easily as possible. It was lightly fluffy and delicious. It doesn't have the plasticky feel that the negative reviews talked about. I'm sure the secret isn't in digesting the eggs. For 2 eggs just 1 minute for the first step instead of 2 will work much better I'm sure. Rinse quickly and the dishes are ready. Overall, it was easier than a frying pan for me, both to cook and to clean, and the taste and texture were no different from what I could tell. I also like the shape of the omelet. I see a lot of new egg sandwiches in the future. The shape of the omelette fits perfectly between two slices of your choice of boule loaf or is folded into a flatbread or flatbread. You are only limited by your creativity. Bottom line, I'd recommend this to anyone, whether a bachelor, college student, or a grumpy old nut like me, who wants to surprise his wife with breakfast in bed without leaving her a mess for her to clean up later. This first omelette was easy for me, but if I'm making a 3-4 egg omelet for my wife and I, or as the pan ages, I may update this review when I have more important information worth providing will. Suffice to say I'm as happy as a puppy in a room full of toys right now.
