Don't focus on long distances!

If you are looking for a lens with excellent macro performance and good manual focus, look no further. This lens is excellent for manual focus shooting and close-focus macro photography. but my lens had a defect that prevented me from getting good autofocus shots. I am a horse photographer and in this job it is imperative that your lens is well focused. With this lens, I have to manually focus as close as possible, then switch to auto to make sure I'm right, and then switch back to manual to be absolutely sure the picture gets captured. Trying to focus on zooming in and out is very difficult and makes my work impossible when photographing clients. All in all, if you're shooting inanimate objects or want a lens with excellent manual focus, I'd recommend it. If you are looking for an auto focus sport lens, buy another lens, this one will not work.
