Review on πŸ’Ž Dremel EZ545 1-1/2-Inch EZ Lock Diamond Wheel: Achieve Precision Cuts Effortlessly with Silver Wheel by Andre Pendergrass

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Let the hard drive do its thing!

I used this to cut through three quarter inch thick stone and concrete pouring (Photo 1). The right angle bit for my Dremel was necessary since the cut was about 2.5 inches from the edge of the workpiece. Hold the tool firmly, but only apply enough downward pressure to keep the blade in a straight line: about the same pressure as you would use a pencil to write on paper. No stress. I marked the cutting line around the entire perimeter of the workpiece. First I cut it out from the outside (photo 2). Then from the inside (photo 3). Be sure to cut straight down as the cut is quite deep and any angle will immediately cause the blade to twist. (These photos were taken after the fact as I didn't have 3 hands or an assistant when cutting). Eye protection is required. I've also worked in front of a vacuum hood to suck up rock dust. Another point that is probably familiar to most of you but worth repeating: Always move the tool "against" the rotation of the cutting blade, as in 5A. Never "with" wheel rotation (5V). The wheel comes out of the cut and runs away. Photo 6 shows the end result. At first I was skeptical that this little blade would do the job, but I was glad I was wrong. It only took 5 or 10 minutes. Less time to get the job done than writing this review!
