I didn't want to risk buying another brand (or refilling another brand). However, these ink cartridges are expensive and just a few changes to your print settings can double the lifespan. At normal print settings, I noticed that the paper became soaked with ink and the cartridge ran out in no time. So I changed the print settings to "Grayscale" and "Quick Print". This uses about half the ink and looks pretty good to me. In fact, I prefer it because the printed copy comes out dry, not wet with ink (which then needs to dry and can actually smudge). Printing in grayscale also saves other color inks, especially when printing coupons or other things that don't require quality printing. To save even more ink and avoid printing unnecessary materials (e.g. logos and advertisements on different websites), you can change the print settings to "Print only the selected frame". Finally, when the printer tells you that the ink cartridge is empty and needs to be replaced - just press the "OK" button on the printer and keep going until your ink is really gone. Last time I managed to print 25 more pages. Happy printing :-)
