Review on 🔌 Monoprice Blackbird 4K Mini 1x4 HDMI Splitter - High-Speed 10.2 Gbps, 4K 30Hz, 1080p 120Hz - PS4/5, Xbox, Apple TV, Fire Stick, Roku, Blu-Ray Player Compatible by Nate Jenkins

I bought this switch to switch between Xbox One S, PS4 Pro and PC connected to a single 60MHz HDR 4K HDMI port on my TV are connected. All of my HDMI cables are certified Premium High Speed Monoprice HDMI cables that I purchased from Revain. I am currently using a switch from Smartoo. Although this box works fine, I wanted to replace it with a Monoprice switch because I really like Monoprice products and would like to have an automatic switch. Using this drawer manually via the knob on the front seems to work fine. It easily transmits 4K HDR at 60 MHz. It's quite slow when switching inputs, around 5-8 seconds of black screen before the picture appears on the next input. I can live with that, but my current Switch is much faster. Switching takes 1-2 seconds. However, this switch had two disadvantages for me. First, the remote only worked occasionally. I would have to press enter 2 to 5 times for it to register. I tried to teach my Harmony commands and Harmony said that every time she successfully learned the command on the first try. Unfortunately, Harmony will never communicate with the Switch using the learned commands. The second hurdle was that the automatic switching didn't work at all. The switch will never try to switch to an active port. I tried everything I could think of to get it to toggle, but it just never toggled. I've tried enabling and disabling auto-switching in case the setting was changed in some way, but that never worked. Another thing I didn't like is that you have to use a plug-in IR receiver to use the remote. If you have a switch in a location where you have line of sight I would prefer the switch only has a built in IR sensor, optionally an external sensor. I've been using Monoprice products for many years, long before most people knew about them, and this is my first disappointing purchase. Two stars because the switch worked great when you used the front panel button to toggle inputs.
