Review on Adorne ASTP1532W4 Three-Way White Wall Switch By Legrand by Bob Roberts

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Didn't Work for my opinion

First off I am not a certified electrician, just a homeowner trying to save money by doing it myself. I have rewired switches and outlets and installed new light fixtures several times before so I have a good idea on how to do my own basic wiring. I liked the aesthetics of these switches as they look sleek and modern. I was under the impression that you had to just barely tap the switch to make the lights work but the switch actually functions by pushing in on the switch until it clicks and then releasing it and it pops back out. Second, the switches didn't even work for me. I wired the switch exactly according to instructions and also the instructional video. The ceiling fan and light came on but you couldn't turn them off using the switch. The switch I replaced it with was the run of the mill flip switch that had two wires (Brown & White) connected to it. Apparently there wasn't a ground wire inside my junction box so the switch will not work for me. I called Legrand Technical Support and the associate I spoke with was somewhat rude. I will need to hire an electrician to rewire my house in order to make this switch work which I probably will not do. I will just by a different switch that works with my two wire system.

Pros
  • Decent product. Works fine.
Cons
  • The switch is not available in different colors or finishes, limiting its versatility in different home aesthetics
