Terrible product in my review

This is one of the most poorly designed electrical products I have ever seen. I am a General Contractor and have extensive electrical installation experience. The wire connections are not secure in the back of the Adorne switches and the connections easily slip out, this is a major problem. Further if you need to remove a component you have to remove the entire faceplate and then have four hands to disengage the click-in units. I was very disappointed in these products because they are…

Pros
  • Beautiful switch, It can be light up when turned off, but you have to purchase the light separately
Cons
  • The installation process can be quite complicated, requiring a professional electrician to complete the task

Overpriced on my review.

While I like the form factor and overall look, it is very expensive for the low quality and flimsy materials. Only the steel wall plate is really well made, the rest feels like it is going to break just installing it. The multiple switches I installed all have a different feel and sound when switched, and none of the locator lights worked properly.

Pros
  • Light Switches
Cons
  • The plastic covering of the switch can be easily scratched and damaged

Always sad seeing a lot of good engineering work by the .

Five stars for the switches but zero for the documentation: As someone else pointed out, the instructions are neither complete nor accurate, resulting in frustration in what should be a straight forward installation.1. I connected the locator light to 1-pole and 3-way, and it works. But someone else pointed out a different wiring, using the hot connection. I'm not sure what to think about it.2. You MUST insert the switch into the metal receptacle, and then connect the green wire into your…

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • The switch's buttons can be difficult to press, making it frustrating to use

I just purchased this product at Lowes and found the reviews while searching for why my new switch is broken. I wish I had read the reviews first. The wire connectors "wiggle" and the light is turning on and off with the wiggle. When the light is on the switch sits and blinks the positive and negative indicators. This product looks amazing but the electrical component quality is horrible. (was a new factory sealed box)

Pros
  • thx
Cons
  • The three-way feature of the switch may confuse users who are not familiar with its functionality

Can't make it work. Disappointing design. Can't return it.

Was doing a remodel in 4 rooms and upgrading all the outlets and wall plates with this Brand. This specific switch however, didn't work. Both of them. I ended up substituting a cheaper version of this switch that worked fine, and then realized these only had a 30 day return window, so I'm stuck with $100 of switches that don't work. One design issue - the "optional" LED light should just be built in. There are other models that don't have it, so why complicate it with an additional wiring step…

Pros
  • Fits in your existing electrical box with no new wires for typical installation.
Cons
  • The switch's backlit display can be distracting and annoying, especially if it is located in a bedroom or other sleeping areas

I am an Electrical contractor, used this line of products in a whole house we remodeled at the customers request, Had a bunch of problems.First the 3 way switches and dimmers do not work unless you install the dimmer in the load side of system (they do not tell you that in wiring diagram) you have to call themSecond the Soft tap dimmers are universal they do incandescent, Magnetic low voltage, Electronic low voltage etc, one of the dimmers controlling 9 recessed low voltage 3" lights…

Pros
  • Wall Switches
Cons
  • The switch may not fit into standard switch plates, requiring special ones to be purchased separately

locator light should be integrated

overall, i like the lagrand adorne line. they look good and feel solid. installation can be tricky, especially in multiple-gang applications due to the product's size. my main gripe with the softtap and touch switches is that the locator light is not integrated into the unit like with the dimmer switches. basically, you get a separate led light that plugs into the back of the unit and you have to wire it into the same leads as power. this makes an already tight installation even tighter. i can…

Pros
  • White finish.
Cons
  • The switch's wiring can be confusing for users who are not experienced in electrical work

A good switch, but also some learning opportunities.

An outstanding wall switch to replace the standard toggle switch.Once the wiring in the switch box is cleaned up to provide the space necessary to install the switch, it is quite easy to install this switch. A couple of notes from my learnings:1) The switch must be seated in the metal wall plate (which must be grounded) in order for the switch to work correctly.2) The indicator light which comes with the switch should be wired between the line hot (black screw) and either 1-pole or 3-pole…

Pros
  • Electrical
Cons
  • The switch's opacity prevents users from checking its internal components, making it difficult to troubleshoot any problems that may arise

Didn't Work for my opinion

First off I am not a certified electrician, just a homeowner trying to save money by doing it myself. I have rewired switches and outlets and installed new light fixtures several times before so I have a good idea on how to do my own basic wiring. I liked the aesthetics of these switches as they look sleek and modern. I was under the impression that you had to just barely tap the switch to make the lights work but the switch actually functions by pushing in on the switch until it clicks and…

Pros
  • Decent product. Works fine.
Cons
  • The switch is not available in different colors or finishes, limiting its versatility in different home aesthetics

Hard work but looks good

Although it has a loud relay-like noise when actuated it senses a light touch pretty well. The light works between the one pole and 3 pole. The fit is pretty tight and you have to clean the box pretty good before it can be pushed in until it clicks.( I ended up pushing the sides with a 1 by 1 wood piece.) The receiving plate needs a good ground or it won't turn of the lights. Overall nice looks but so you know the cover extends about 1/2 in from the surface.

Pros
  • SofTap light switch .
Cons
  • The switch's installation instructions are not user-friendly, making the process confusing and time-consuming

Don’t listen to the nay-sayers

I am not an electrical contractor, yet had no issue installing these in my home solo, by myself with just 2 hands. Sounds like these electrician reviewers are not very good at their jobs :) Anyway, the switches look very unique, and are likely to grab your guest’s attention. They do a good job, and I like the indicator light for a unique touch. Only downside is that they are overpriced, but if you want a one in a kind look, then look no further.

Pros
  • Switches & Dimmers
Cons
  • The switch's design is not user-friendly, making it difficult to find and operate in the dark
