This part fits a 7/8" (22.2mm) ID tube to convert an 'old' stem to a modern one. Your configurations and options to change your bike to better suit you or just use modern components as there are LOTS more options now. MAKE SURE your bike has a 7/8" tube. This is the most common size, but if you want to avoid lag, measure it. I converted two of my "old" bikes with these stem converters, using them I can fit recline adjustable stems, there are so many options on the market now, the prices are great, and you can replace those aging ugly stems or make this old bike better - in my case I needed to raise the bar a little bit got older and needed a more upright riding position.. Funny, the non-adjustable rusty Ritchey stem I replaced with this one cost more than a new modern stem rebuild, a new adjustable stem AND a new handlebar. Ditch those old bikes on the street, the hype surrounding the "technology" they're trying to sell new ones with is more marketing hype than any real benefit the average drivers could ever notice. Buy a $300 used bike that originally sold for $3,000 and ride in style. :)
