Bookcase Heat Loss

This is a handy little device. looks well made and comes in a really nice case that looks like a small guitar case. The instructions are clear and in real English. It has many functions: it records videos and takes photos. Tempo. The mouse pointer can be moved to different parts of the screen. Temperature ranges can also be set manually, as can temporary alarms. It has a video overlay option which seems to work best for what I'm using it for. The menu is very easy to navigate. It constantly looks for temperature differences and performs best when displaying sharply contrasting temperatures. Mine came with a 16GB micro SD card but also has internal storage. Turns on and off very quickly. I have another perfect top notch thermal camera that takes longer to turn on but costs twice as much and has a much higher resolution than this one. It's easy to see what's happening on the screen. For what money this is a pretty cool product. I found a heat source in a bookshelf I recently built into the wall. I suspect most people use this to detect insulation leaks.

Pros
  • Thermal Sensitivity: 0.15 °C Temperature Range: -30 to 1000 °C (-22 to 1832 °F) Temperature Accuracy: +/- 2% or +/- 2 °C
Cons
  • Very Expensive
