Does exactly what it says it does. The plate fits most standard mugs. I only had one SUPERR wide one that didn’t fit, all my other large and standard size mugs fit fine. It does have an auto turn off and it’s easy to turn off when you first turn it on, but it’s a little confusing to turn off once it has been on. I’ve never had an issue or scare with the heating or it overheating. I keep a little square coaster under it anyways to be safe, but never had an issue. Keeps my coffee hot for hours!
