Well, we've read all the reviews saying one thing after the other about heat, rusting and chipping. but for her, well, I guess there will always be a few. However for me and my wife this is a great kettle that has met all expectations. It's a great accent piece in our kitchen and it does exactly what it's supposed to do, boil water and let you know when it's done! Just perfect! It's made of stainless steel with a beautiful red durable finish, the handle is insulated so you don't need a glove or kitchen towel (unless you have very sensitive hands), the activator to lift the whistle cap on the spout works great, and it contains more than enough water to fill anyone's cup. So we voted and got 5 stars for being everything he should be! 13th July 2021 UPDATE We've been using it every day for over a month now and still it's a great kettle and I don't think we're just lucky! Great kettle!
