I used these strips to fill up some expansion joints in my wooden floor. I used a red stain that matches my floor and the veneer absorbed the stain evenly. A hot iron is required to glue the strips in place, but there are several YouTube videos that suggest you first apply wood glue to the surface of the project, wait for it to dry, and then iron the veneer strip. Applying an extra coat of wood glue ahead of time may give better results on some projects.
