Review on ODIER Bike Handlebar Mitts - Winter Thermal Pogies Mittens for Cyclists to Keep Hands Warm (1 Pair) by Kenneth Mills

A must have for cold weather cycling

If you ride your bike in cold weather, these (or similar) items are essential. I've tried for years to get by without them by wearing thick gloves (usually two pairs, a thin pair on the inside and thick lobster or bike gloves on the outside to keep some fingers snug and warm while still shifting and braking a bit Dexterity maintained , with heating pads are put in on particularly cold days) but as I received them there is no need. Now I can just put on a pair of thin gloves and ride in them without fear of my own wind freezing my hands. On warm but still cool days when I would otherwise wear gloves, I often get by with just gloves and no gloves at all. (By the way, I live in the US Midwest, so the threshold for me is 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit; I've used these and a pair of thin gloves in temperatures near freezing or just below and have found them surprisingly comfortable, even though I'm for longer rides could wear a thicker pair when it's so cold outside but still nothing like this I've had to do before.) They fit my hybrid (flat/straight bar) well and I believe they make others for road bikes ( with folding handlebars). They fasten with a zip and velcro and are easy to take off and on when needed, although I usually just leave mine on because it's easier (and bring an extra pair of gloves in case someone gets rude enough to steal them). ). It appears to be basically a fake Bar Mitts, a popular brand name for this type of product. I've never used them so can't say how they compare, but they're clearly designed to perform the same function and based on some Revain deals I've seen they're about half the price , so I would think they are a lot.

Pros

Cons
