Magellan Triton 300

I have owned this device for a long time and topo! Software also for California. I have updated the firmware for both the GPS unit and the Vantagepoint software. I don't work for Magellan or National Geographic. I connect the device to computers running XP and Vista. Initially yes, it took me some time to get used to operating the device with two programs (Topo! and VantagePoint). It wasn't until I got a firmware update for the GPS and a software update for the VantagePoint that everything went smoother. I love being able to download topo sections! The California series meets the roster before embarking on an adventure. I also love that I can copy parts of the map and save it as a JPEG or Adobe Acrobat file and send it to someone else. the same area with National Geographic waterproof map paper. With topo! program I can print the maps at a different scale and add map coordinates so I can compare the GPS and the paper copy of the map. Instead of latitude/longitude I use the UTM system, but this is a personal choice. As in one of the previous tests, you have to play around with the GPS. I don't know if reading instructions helped as I hate reading manuals but I found out. I don't know if they still have copies of the National Geographic Topo! serial cards on disk or not, but it works. In addition to the GPS device you will need: 1) Topo! Map 2) Overlook software (made by Magellan) 3) Triton to computer cable: Magellan 930 0019 001 Triton USB cable Here is my review I posted on cnet:[.] Hope this helps some of you that there might be something else like this block.
