I needed to replace an old curtain rod that fell on my head every time I touched the curtain. The new rod was much stronger but also larger in diameter than the old one (what a coincidence right?) so the old curtain rings didn't slide around. Of course I could still use them, but then I'd have to choose between having the curtains permanently open or permanently closed, so the new, larger rings seemed fine. BUT! The three local stores that sell curtain rings just have this newfangled look with the clip hanging down while the curtains I deal with have these sharp little things that pick up the fabric or lift it and separate it, or what the heck do they need rings anyway and they were perfect for the job. Sturdy and look great!
