Not the best mechanical construction but optics and electronics work great

Produces fairly good images on an LCD, SD card or smartphone. Ideal for learning and DIY. The sight allows you to directly control the zoom in the range of 1x-2x. It appears to be analog zoom, which is a big plus. At maximum magnification I was able to get a 1mm x 2mm field of view (as shown in the attached images). I'm not sure if that equates to 1000x magnification, but it definitely magnifies a lot. The Android app works pretty well - I had no trouble getting it to work. However, for some reason, the application has an extremely low rating of 2.1⭐. The main limitation of the app that I noticed is that it requires a Wi-Fi connection to the microscope, which means your phone will lose its internet connection and you won't be able to share real-time images from your phone. So for now I had to use it by taking a few pictures, switching back to normal Wi-Fi and uploading my pictures from there. A little less streamlined if I want, but it works. The only real limitation I see with this microscope is its surprisingly poor mechanical design. The bracket is decent and aluminum, but the mounting screws are all cheap plastic and probably won't last very long. Also, the body of the scope itself appears to be made out of very cheap plastic. I suspect the manufacturer decided to invest in the electronics and optics and skimp on the mechanics to offset the cost. It doesn't really matter to me, since I'll be making my own mount anyway and I'm primarily concerned with the screen and image quality. With careful use, mechanical parts will likely last a while. On the other hand, if you get abused a lot (like teaching a large group of kids how to use a microscope), the screws are likely to loosen fairly quickly. However, if you're willing to swap out the screws and stuff, it's still worth a shot as it's one of the cheapest models I could find.
