happy with this purchase. I got it for a micro solder repair and it works fine. I haven't connected it to WiFi yet, but it works fine with the included screen. If you want to get an idea of how well it compares and you have a decent phone you'll get the same quality of imagination on close-up shots, but good luck, hold the phone in place and move it around not (I have a note 9 for phone)

I bought this to work on some soldering projects and I am very impressed with how well it works. I have another microscope with Bluetooth, but I always have a hard time working with my phone. It's really nice to have a built in display so this device works standalone OR with a phone app. Image quality is decent enough for what you're paying, but it's certainly not the super high quality you can get from a $1,000+ micro soldering microscope. I'm a hardware engineer and I do some side projects at home. Sometimes when troubleshooting my PCB, it's difficult to see small components. It's perfect for that. Look at the picture I posted. This is basically a digital camera sensor with a ring of light around it to illuminate the object being viewed. This works fine, but not quite for all my purposes. I got it for circuit work and for general inspection it works fine but it's not as sharp as an optical zoom device. For example, when I try to turn the board on its side to see the suffering of 32 pads in an LGA32 package, it's too hard to see in that area. Too much shine and blur in the picture. Produces fairly good images on an LCD, SD card or smartphone. Ideal for learning and DIY. The sight allows you to directly control the zoom in the range of 1x-2x. It appears to be analog zoom, which is a big plus. At maximum magnification I was able to get a 1mm x 2mm field of view (as shown in the attached images).
