Review on ๐Ÿ”ฉ Dewalt DCD771C2 Compact Cordless Lithium Ion Drill by Tim Hollins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

First disappointment Dewalt

I don't use them at work but around the house often enough to have a good one. My previous Dewalt drill lasted about 5 years before one of the batteries failed and the OEM replacement battery cost almost the same as the entire set on this drill. I just had to get the battery for the old one. With both batteries fully charged, I began removing the 3" screws from the 12' x 24' deck. After removing about 1/4 of it, the first battery is dead. The battery is fresh. Same - about 1/4 more away. Note: I REMOVE them (instead of screwing them in) so the battery should last longer. I removed about 1/2 of the screws with 2 new fully charged batteries. So I took an old drill with its 5 year old battery and loosened the screws from the whole other half of the soundboard with little force. What's up, Dewalt? the chuck came loose and the bit fell out - be it a drill or a hex shank bit - after about 5 minutes of use. It doesn't matter how hard I pull. And it's really annoying. I have several Dewalt tools. and in fact it's my favorite brand but this particular drill was a total disappointment, it's coming back.
