Great stereo with terrible instructions

This stereo looks absolutely amazing and seems to be doing everything it's supposed to. My problem is that I can't get any sound out of the speakers. I don't blame the stereo for this, I blame Nissan and their ridiculous way of hooking up amps and integrating everything that makes it impossible to hook up properly. Now I rip everything out of the storage system and plug it straight into the speakers. I believe the stereo will work fine after that and then I will update this review. This stereo has the most ridiculous instructions. I posted a photo of the sides with the wiring on it. It's printed so small that you have to wear reading glasses or take a picture and zoom in to read it. Basically it tells you what the wires are and it's up to you to decide where to go. Some wires have descriptions that don't really make sense, but you can find the ones you need. Don't even try to read a few lines of written instructions. I'm pretty sure someone used google translate and it did a poor job. The wires are a bit smaller than I'd like and you have to be careful with them when stripping them because if you cut too much you won't be left with much copper to work with. It saddens me, but everything seems to be working fine. Now, while I couldn't get it to play any sound yet, I was able to jump in and get the radio working, connect Bluetooth, and launch CarPlay fairly easily. In terms of programming, everything works very well. CarPlay is actually wireless CarPlay, which was a cool surprise. Another great feature was the download speed. It starts almost immediately when the key is turned. I have a Kenwood deck in my jeep that takes a while to load so I was surprised at how fast it ran. and looks very beautiful. UPDATE: I was able to bypass the factory amp and plug the stereo directly into the speakers and everything is working now. Here are some observations: 1. Output power is okay, not super powerful but decent enough. Wireless CarPlay works well3. The included mounts are not very good. I was able to cut and bend them to work in my application but not of very good quality.4. The face is very sensitive. It takes some getting used to, as the lightest touch opens the menu. The rear of the main unit becomes HOT. Not sure if this is an issue and causing temperature issues, but it gets very hot. It is not noticeable after installation.6. The BIGGEST complaint I have is the instructions. You just can't figure them out and they are SMALL so bring a magnifying glass or reading glasses. Somehow I managed to figure out which wires went to each speaker, although it was barely visible on the tiny illustration. The color of their wires will not match your car's wiring, except for the black and yellow wires, so this is very important. Working with a stereo requires some experimentation with the menus. I feel like it's more customizable than I've been able to understand so far because the instructions suck. Okay, final impressions are that this isn't a bad stereo if you're relatively knowledgeable about electronics and can figure things out for yourself. . Indeed, for the price this is a great stereo. Update 2: The manufacturer sent me a PDF with much clearer instructions. I believe they will update this in future broadcasts.**************************************** * *** ****** **************************************** ***** ***** ************ **************************** ***** ******* **************** *** I rely on reviews when I shop, so I spend a lot of time checking everything I do buy from Revain, personally and personally verify business purposes.
