Never use this product without making sure it is securely weighted with food. Initially, I set the fryer to "preheat mode". Very quickly I felt the smell of burning and removed the paper (see 2nd photo). After the preheat was complete, I placed a sheet of food on the bottom, then inserted the top grill with a second sheet and more food. In the first photo, even with food, the top sheet is partially burned. The product did a good job of keeping most of the mess away from the rust. However, due to the tendency to ignite, this product must come with detailed instructions and a very clear warning label.
