I have a different brand small tripod ball head very similar to this one but at a much higher price (+$15). They appear to be about the same quality, although another says they will hold more weight. This one has a spirit level and the other doesn't, but the other has a cold shoe mount which this one doesn't. What I like about both is that the quick release plates are compatible so I can easily swap gear between them. That's the whole point of the order. Neither are interchangeable with the quick release on my large Arca-Swiss tripods (a downside of both) that I use with my cameras, but since they work together it's easy to switch lights, mics, etc. from one another. .I also like the thumbscrew that drives the main ball. It's a lot easier to tighten and loosen than most other brands of knobs I've used. However, this one also uses two round handles and is difficult to grip. I tried it with my Canon T3 and an EFS 55-250mm lens with flash and it held up with no issues. But I don't want to try my larger 6D and L lenses. But mostly I use it with LED panels and/or microphone. For the price you can't beat it. It is excellent value for money and very useful.
