These Bobbins Are Awesome! I use it in a Brother SE-400 sewing and embroidery machine. So far I've made about 10 designs with different threads and not a single break or split. It's true that these spools DO NOT have a thread lock on the end, but I simply used an Exacto knife and cut the plastic base. I also read that some buyers did not receive the color chart. The color names aren't listed, but I found a Brother chart online and a printer that had all but three colors (I've attached the one I found). I did what I had read in previous reviews, just removed the ID number sticker from the end and put it in the spool. I haven't had any trouble starting the coils either (I've read other buyers have had trouble with this). If you're willing to invest about an hour (random estimate) to install the coils this way, it's definitely a worthwhile purchase. If you want to receive and sew, I would recommend a different product. I am more than satisfied with this purchase and will buy again!
