If you remove the clips on the old one, you can simply "pull out" the old post. Then this new one just "pops out". The YouTube installation video suggests you need a metrics key to remove the old one. My experience was easy because my old racks had clips on each end that you could just snap off so they could be pulled out. The new frames are very strong and work well despite being made in China. Installing both racks took about 10 minutes. Make sure you put the bar underneath and the black (wider) end on top of the end that attaches to the hood.
