I fully understand the issue that other reviewers have had with the position of the footswitch relative to the fork. The way I got this to work for me was to plug a surge protector into an outlet behind my TV cabinet with a 6ft cord, then I wrapped the cord under the cabinet so I could use an extension cord/ a footswitch could hook up some garlands to it . chain method. I then hooked up a lamp on a small fridge next to the TV cabinet to an extension cord/footswitch, with the switch itself on the floor between the cabinet and the fridge. And now it works great with the benefit of surge protection. This gave me the 6 feet of extra cord I needed and I was able to hide the cords under the furniture so all I can see is the floor switch. I would give this product 5 stars because otherwise it's great. But only 3 feet of cord between plug and floor switch is not that practical.
