All my colleagues have up to 4 ports to connect to MacBooks in the morning. With this hub I only have to connect one. To me, it's a hub for Ethernet, HDMI, wireless mouse, USB, USB intermittent phone charging, and powering a MacBook. There's also plenty of free space for even more features that I'm currently not using. It's very rare for my mouse to move erratically (once every few days for about 30 seconds), but obviously there are other factors that might be more important. Contributors (it's a Microsoft mouse, not an Apple mouse, so it might just be a general difficulty with integration with a MacBook). The docking station does get quite warm, but I don't think this has affected its performance. I have not tried any of the competitor's products, but overall I would recommend this one for its convenience and performance.
