I originally bought these because one of my pedals was getting soft and felt like my foot was loose. After replacing the old ones with these bear traps, I felt an obviously secure grip from the increased number of teeth. I was unexpectedly surprised to discover that the wider circumference of the pedal frame also serves to more evenly distribute my body weight over a larger area of the foot. This change puts less of the weight on the bow and I love it! Well built and I like the aluminum base construction. Also, as mentioned in a previous review, the bearings are firmer than my old ones, but I'm fine with that. I don't really like the idea of freewheel pedals with teeth somewhere around my shins anyway. Good product!
