Good size Good value for money

I use them on my mountain bike which I ride on fairly difficult trails. The Nike Terra Kigers shoes are size 13 and these pedals fit this shoe very well. As mentioned in other reviews, the bearings were a bit stiff when delivered, but this is not noticeable when driving. At this price, they're hard to beat. Also, the old school BMX look is always a plus.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Working speed

They do the job but need some tweaking.

These are good quality, good value all-metal pedals that you can use on the trails without worrying too much about them. The bearings are a bit tight. If you pry off the dust caps and liberally lube the bearings, they will work better. The spikes help a lot with traction, but they're not sharp enough to poke holes in your foot if you're careless or make a mistake. .

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Guard

Great pedals when set up correctly!

These are great pedals and the reasons I don't give them five stars are: First, the reflectors that come with them don't fit the holes exactly. I "fixed" this by removing each reflector assembly, cutting small pieces of tape and placing them loosely over both holes for each reflector assembly, then re-inserting each reflector assembly so the tape is pressed into the hole with the assembly's pins, and remain between the studs and holes into which the studs are inserted. The second issue was that

Good Design - Bad Bearings UPDATE

After about 14 rides totaling about 200 miles per month the pedals started to click indicating a bearing problem. Went back to my old pedals and they didn't click. Too bad, because I like the design of the pedals. If they had a sealed bearing they could last longer. I hope the seller can fix the situation. If so, I would update my review. UPDATE: Replacement pedals arrived 2 days after requesting a return. That is excellent customer service and the reason for the upgrade to 3 stars. Hopefullyโ€ฆ

Great pedals for cycling

I originally bought these because one of my pedals was getting soft and felt like my foot was loose. After replacing the old ones with these bear traps, I felt an obviously secure grip from the increased number of teeth. I was unexpectedly surprised to discover that the wider circumference of the pedal frame also serves to more evenly distribute my body weight over a larger area of the foot. This change puts less of the weight on the bow and I love it! Well built and I like the aluminum baseโ€ฆ

Great grip, hard cornering, flexing after a fall

These pedals will hold a pair of shoes like a bear trap. My shoe size is 13 and I feel confident putting my large feet a little wider on these pedals than most pedals. I replaced the contactless OEM pair that came with my Schwinn Rocket as the plastic adapter to make it a basic pedal was too small and didn't hold up well, nor did the plastic cover stay clamped onto the pedal. The bearings on these bear trap pedals feel a little tight and noisy compared to my OEM pedals which had a very smoothโ€ฆ
