Review on πŸ›’οΈ Sunex 8300DP Oil Drip Pan: The Perfect Accessory for Large Geared Engine Stand by Ralph Foster

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Collapsed in five minutes. Tiny. Negative reviews are true.

First of all, so as not to get in the way: Yes, the dimensions of the pallet are given in the description. I highly recommend measuring it or making a layout if you're worried it won't be big enough. Second, yes, it looks straight because of the angle and distance between the oil pan and the engine. less in my photos. I was trying to figure out how to bypass forced perspective but didn't know how. However, if I turn the engine so that the pistons are directly perpendicular to the ground, the oil gets to the edge of the oil pan. Something goes in the pot, something doesn't. That's why you see the top of the bag underneath to make up for the lack of width. If you don't rev the motor fast enough, or try to catch any spills while you rev it, you can VERY easily make a giant mess. . I drained everything I could, even using a siphon pump to pump the coolant out of the ducts. Even so, it turned out that there was quite a bit of liquid on the floor. BTW, my engine is a Pontiac 389. I drained the oil pan and reinstalled it. on a stand. and it immediately broke in half which I show in a photo. Looks like several other customers shared it in the same place. Even if you place it on the Harbor Freight stand, as one review shows, it will look a lot bigger than it really is. Put it on a decent stand and you'll quickly notice how small this pan is. My final photo, assuming Revain sorts them correctly, shows a comparison of this pan to another pan you've probably already looked at. It's much larger in every dimension, including material thickness. And at the time of writing, that's only $8 more. I don't name him because I don't care if you buy their product, they don't pay me. But if you've seen this one and want to know how it compares, here's a side-by-side for you. If it also fails or has problems I will update this review as well.
