3/8 " Thread is STANDARD

Most of the other reviewers of this product so far seem very confused that tripod legs without an integrated ball head usually come STANDARD with a 3/8" A screw with a - 16 thread to mount a ball head on it. There is a 1/4"-20 thread screw on the top of the ball head or quick release plate for attaching to the STANDARD 1/4"-20 hole on the bottom of cameras and other photography equipment. Therefore, tripod legs without a ball head attached are NOT intended to connect directly to the camera. This product is designed to increase the height of the tripod, not to increase the height of the ball head. It is NOT intended to be connected directly to the camera. It has a STANDARD 3/8"-16 thread on both ends and works great with any regular tripod with a 3/8"-16 screw on top and any ball head that has a 3/8"-16 If you need a ball head without a 3/8"-16 thread on the bottom, buy a matching ball head or remove the often installed 1/4" to 3/8" thread adapter bushing. If you have a set of tripod legs with only a 1/4" screw on top, buy a 1/4" to 3/8" sleeve to change the thread size. Yes they do a threaded adapter and lots of bullets. Heads come standard with this thread adapter. Only the cheapest mini ball sockets don't have a 3/8"-16 threaded hole. That's not rocket science. This product itself is properly designed and works very well. It's ordered and tested by people who don't know what they're doing.
