2017 Forester XT Oil 4 Percent Cooler

Not a fan of "snake additives". but I'm a fan of "science and using things that work". I bought this to test our new 2017 Subaru Forester XT which was used on a 1000 mile break in oil change. I've used Bio-Tech engine additive a few times before on my fleet, always with good results, cooler temps, quieter and more erratic (growth). ) MPG has always followed after I have installed LubeGard products in my vehicles. Forester XT oil temp before adding Liquid Wax Ester (LubeGard), even on colder nights (50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit) the oil temp rose to 221 Fahrenheit (continuous) with multiple peaks above 223 Fahrenheit while driving. These numbers are for normal city/highway driving at 0 to 50 mph city and 65 to 75 mph highway, and a "hard hard break-in" will not get hotter than 223v for a few seconds. So far the oil temp is up after adding LXE 214 F liked it no matter what I did during my testing. this is approx. 4% lower than the oil temperature. For this reason alone I will continue to use LubeGard in my Forester. The engine is now very quiet, no more "typical box tick" only the engine runs quietly, almost whispering. almost like a Prius :) I'll be in touch for a good fuel economy report after a few fill ups, but here's what I have for now: 1st tank, 25.31 mpg 2nd tank, 26.49 mpg gal (added 2 oz Bio Plus to fuel) 3rd Tank, 27.21mpg (was 1oz Bio Plus) 4th Tank, 28.75mpg (was 2oz Bio Plus, Castrol 0w-40 + LubeGard, Mobil 1 75w-90 + LubeGard and AEM -Dry airflow filter) 5th and 6 tanks average about 30.84 mpg between them. around 22 percent less fuel consumption compared to the first tank filling. All I did was save myself about $9 for every full tank of gas I get: 5.0 liters of Castrol Synthetic 0w-40 European Car and 0.4 liters of LubeGard (just under 3 ounces of LubeGard per liter Oil). A few weeks later the temperature has dropped a little further, now the oil temp rarely exceeds 207 even when the outside temp reaches 102.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled
