Bright, bright, blindingly bright. This small 2x18650 package houses 8 focused LEDs. Not sure about the type of LED but the focusing element is great. I bought it for my mountain bike but I love it so much I carry it with me. The jet pattern is more punctate with little flow. Pure brightness illuminates areas outside of your beam of light. When cars with LED spotlights drive by at high altitude, they no longer block my light. Old cars with their lightbulbs forget that and make their headlights look like pathetic flashlights. That's no exaggeration. All this brightness has a downside; You will blind people walking in the opposite direction. When there are people around, I point this light down and turn it down to a low level. Even low is blinding, I'm not kidding. But since I use it as a personal carry light, I decided to use an even brighter and larger 2x26650 XHP70 light on the handlebars. It looks ridiculous, but it's still night and nobody sees it. The difference is that the beam pattern can be focused on one point to avoid oncoming people, but when I'm out and about I widen the beam and point it up. I want to be seen, dammit. You will definitely get more respect with bright lights. The equivalent light, more flood and less pinpoint, would be a 3 LED version in the same form factor. Still very bright, but more suitable for a bike. I bought one and use it for daylight and ride at dusk. For night driving I use a flashlight with a large stick. After all, if you want the brightest and most compact flashlight then this is the clear winner.
